Our volunteers are the heart of Hopestreet, bringing safety, hope, and joy into every interaction with the community. If you're passionate about making a difference and want to be part of a supportive community, hold a working with children check (or willing to get one) then volunteering with Hopestreet might be a good fit for you. There are a few different roles in that you can volunteer.
- Volunteer at Hopestreet Social (Teaching youth cafe and retail skills)
- Volunteer at youth engagement programs throughout the week
- Volunteer as a 1:1 mentor
- Volunteer at our skatepark outreach and more!
I (Volunteer) came to visit the program and never left. Hopestreet has such a sense of family and community that is hard to find. Everyone is equal, loved, and encouraged. We place huge value on kindness, belonging, and supporting one another to become who they truly are. This goes for the volunteers and youth. Being a volunteer has had a profound impact on me shaped a huge part of who I am today." - Sam, age 27 |
I've been at youth for 5 years. I was at the local shops with my brother and saw the community centre open. We went inside and found out there was a youth program. We started to get to know some of the volunteers and kept coming back because it was fun and different. One of my favourite things is seeing all the volunteers interact with the kids and seeing positivity grow." - Joel, age 17
